Christmas in July

Christmas is probably not on your mind today. With the heat and humidity, with kids out of school and trips to the beach, Christmas seems a long way off. However, SBC of Virginia churches are to celebrate Christ and share His Gospel all year long. Every season, every day is an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ in a lost world.

Through the Cooperative Program and the Vision Virginia state missions offering and prayer emphasis, SBC of Virginia churches are making Jesus known across this land and around the world. SBC of Virginia churches partner together all year long to give through the Cooperative Program and the Vision Virginia offering to have a global impact as they strengthen churches, mobilize churches, plant churches, and revitalize churches.

For example, this summer SBC of Virginia churches gifts through the Vision Virginia missions offering are making the following ministries possible:

• Approximately fifty summer internship and summer missionary opportunities for students and young adults.
• Rebuilding projects, church planting, and church assistance in Puerto Rico.
• Worship grants to help churches getting started with equipment for worship services.
• Ministry in Barcelona, Spain that is reaching men, women, and families who have not heard the Gospel of Christ.

Jesus came into this world, lived a perfect and sinless life, but we know that Jesus is more than a Christmas story.

The Lord Jesus is The Story – and because He gave His life for our sins, has victory over the grave, is our living and resurrected Lord and Savior, empowers us with the Holy Spirit, sends us with His Word, and reigns forevermore – we celebrate Christ and share His Gospel all year long.
