God is Able

Maybe you are a pastor, and Monday always follows Sunday. Maybe you are a lay leader in your church, and you are starting your work week. Whatever your situation, a simple three-word statement, yet a profound theological truth – God is able.

Here are a few Bible verses as you keep pressing on in the week ahead:

  • 2 Chronicles 25:9, “And Amaziah said to the man of God, ‘But what shall we do about the hundred talents that I have given to the army of Israel?’ The man of God answered, ‘The LORD is able to give you much more than this.’”

  • Jeremiah 32:17, “Ah, Lord GOD! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.”

  • Jeremiah 32:27, “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?”

  • Daniel 3:17, “If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.”

  • Romans 16:25, “Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages.”

  • 2 Corinthians 9:8, “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.”

  • Ephesians 3:20-21, “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

  • Hebrews 7:25, “Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.”

  • Jude 24, “Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy.”

Because God is able…

Keep Pressing On in Prayer. Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. (Jer 33:3)

Keep Pressing On when Suffering. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (Lam 3:22-23)

Keep Pressing On for Revival. If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2 Chron 7:14)

Keep Pressing On as Witnesses. The disciples asked “Who then can be saved?” But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matt 19:25-26)

Keep Pressing On! Your brother in Christ,
