Rely on God’s Strength

We are less than 40 Days away from our 2023 SBCV Annual Homecoming. I hope you will make plans to join us at The Heights Baptist Church, November 12–14 as we gather to celebrate what God is doing through His people for His glory. The theme this year is “The Lord is with You: Relying on His Strength.” As we celebrate ministry and missions, the impact, and advancement of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we will exhort one another and encourage one another to rely on God’s strength. I would like to share ten Bible verses with you that encourage us to rely on God’s strength:

  • The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. (Exodus 15:2)

  • Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10)

  • God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)

  • My soul melts away for sorrow; strengthen me according to your word! (Psalm 119:28)

  • The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe. (Proverbs 18:10)

  • But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

  • Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

  • But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:9–10)

  • Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:11–13)

  • Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. (Ephesians 6:10)

    (Verses quoted from ESV)

What verse(s) would you add to the list? Thank You Lord for being Our strength! I hope to see you at the SBCV Annual Homecoming as we join together in His presence.
